Beginners
Your first training is FREE!
You are very welcome to come along to the dojo to observe or take part in Aikido training, however please contact us beforehand so we know to expect you. If you feel nervous then it may help to bring a friend along as well. Although classes start at 6pm please arrive a little earlier (ie at 5.50pm) in order to introduce yourself to the instructor. As we have mentioned in the fees structure, the first class is free!
When you come along to try it out for yourself, make sure to wear comfortable clothing such as track pants and t-shirt. You don’t need to buy a uniform (gi) for your first couple of goes until you are sure you want to continue training.
Training usually starts with everyone lining up to bow, then we have a warm up, followed by ukemi practice (falling and rolls), and then some aikido techniques, then finally we line up and bow again, signalling the end of class.
